Motivated by climate justice and respect for ancestral knowledge, we work to build bridges between indigenous communities and the rest of the world.
Pina Varinawa
Pina Varinawa is an indigenous representative of the Noke Koi people. He is one of the spiritual leaders of the Noke Koi people and the chief of the Vari Teka village.
He was initiated at a young age, and his grandparents Txoki Waninawa and Peo Varinawa, two great shamans, taught him ancestral knowledge of his people such as medicine and sacred songs.
Pina is an artist and musician whose objective is to spread Noke Koi culture through art. He is a composer and assumes the role of indigenous leader in protecting the environment and climate justice by participating in national and international conferences, such as at the University of Stavanger in Norway and UNESCO in Paris.
Imika Tariru Bari Vera Kuari Baru
Imika Tariru Bary Vera Kuary Baru is a powerful and respected voice of the Tubú nation in the Vaupés region of the Colombian Amazon, along the Apaporis river.
Dedicated to preserving ancestral traditions and protecting biodiversity, Imika embodies the wisdom and resilience of his people. His deep understanding of traditional knowledge and the interdependence between humans and nature allows him to play a crucial role in the preservation of these teachings.
Imika carries a profound wisdom born from a beautiful tradition, and his voice is essential for sharing and maintaining these living teachings. Committed to various projects supporting indigenous communities, he tirelessly works to strengthen security and improve the quality of life for his people, while raising awareness of current ecological and cultural challenges.
His leadership and vision contribute to the work of Vari Vena towards a more harmonious and respectful future of natural and cultural balances.
Clara Fleury
Clara, president of Vari Vena, has been traveling for 12 years to meet different peoples.
Through exchanges with these guardians of the Earth and observing the climate upheavals due to the destruction of natural resources, she has found it necessary and important that the messages and knowledge of these peoples are heard in order to co-create together a new society that lives in harmony with the environment.
She has been learning alongside Pina Varinawa for more than 6 years and accompanies her to various events in Europe.
Aline Lione
Aline, Vice President.
She was born and raised in Brazil. From a young age, she had a relationship with indigenous peoples and learned from them. Deeply impacted by the situation of these peoples in the Amazon, she decided to help and support this cause.
Aline is involved in preserving this knowledge by creating a bridge with the western world so that these messages can be shared.
Therefore, supporting projects within communities is essential to perpetuate this knowledge on their home territories.
Yohann
Yohann, secretary of Vari Vena.
It was during his travels through parts of Africa that his desire to support all of these nations, who have so much knowledge to share, was born.
Trained as an anthropologist and linguist, he also pursues aiding the development of autonomous gardens. His intention is to strengthen the bonds that unite us and support them in respect of our convictions.
Juliette
Juliette, secretary to Vari Vena.
She is an organizer, interpreter and has been traveling for several years around the world to meet different cultures. She is involved in various projects to spread ancestral knowledge and studies the construction of community spaces.
Juliette has also been a member of the SUARY association in Colombia for several years, and accompanies Imika Tariru from the TUBU nation.
Sophie Fleury
Sophie is the treasurer of the association Vari Vena.
Touched by the various meetings with representatives of indigenous peoples and by observing the different climate changes, she decided to support this project by putting to use the knowledge she had acquired throughout her life.
