from the TUBÚ HɄMMɄRIMASA nation
in support of the Suary association.
Vari Vena accompanies and supports SUARY, a bioethical, social and cultural association based in Cali, Colombia.
SUARY aims to materialize “The House of Dawn”, a proposal guided by the leader Imika Tariru from the TUBÚ HɄMMɄRIMASA nation.
SUARY proposes to safeguard and pass on ancestral knowledge that is still alive, and provides us with various solutions for rebuilding a society based on the cosmovision of the TUBÚ HɄMMɄRIMASA nation.
This proposal was drawn up by the Suary association.
The Indigenous Nation
TUBɄ HɄMMɄRIMASSÃ
The TUBÚ HɄMMɄRIMASA nation, “the sons of time and space”, is part of an ethnic group located in Colombia’s Vaupés department on the border with Brazil, between the Apaporis and Rio Negro rivers. The territory is located some 660 km southeast of Colombia’s capital, Bogotá.
The indigenous nation of TUBɄ HɄMMɄRIMASSÃ – The Children of Time and Space – preserves the heritage and knowledge of the Yurupary Jaguars, a highly sophisticated cultural system that is part of humanity’s intangible heritage.
The nation originates from the department of Vaupés (Colombian Amazon) between the Apaporis and Rio Negro rivers, on Colombia’s eastern border with Brazil. The territory is located some 660 km southeast of Colombia’s capital, Bogotá.
The TUBɄ HɄMMɄRIMASSÃ nation reflects on the histories of society and the transmission of the knowledge that sustains it. They are confronted with a fragmented and individualistic society, “disunited and nostalgic”, which has no respect for difference. In the midst of this cultural shock, they ask themselves; How can we complete this society from our healing stories, our cosmovision and our ancestral knowledge?
It’s urgent to launch the TOA TORÉ – the call – to the New People who, without being indigenous, dare to listen, internalize, walk and support the materialization of the healing story of the DIRÖAMASSÃ, the people of the dawn.
Thus is born the SUARY proposal, which summons those who wish to receive the heritage of the TUBɄ HɄMMɄRIMASSÃ Nation.
the project
Acquire territory and build Warivy – the Big House of Dawn, the place where everyone belongs.
Warivy is the physical space that will collectively sustain the knowledge and heritage of the indigenous Amazonian nation TUBɄ HɄMMɄRIMASSÃ, from the materialization of the healing history DIRÖAMASSÃ, people of the Dawn.
Warivy offers the appropriate space to accompany and safeguard the knowledge shared by traditional doctor, leader and spiritual guide Imika Tariru Bary Vera Kuary Baru and his relatives, Elders DIATTO YEPÃMÃSSÕ HÜMRE MIRY ZARARO PARAMEO and HŨMMUGUBU BŨJPHUÁ BARY VERA KUARY KUMU, Elderes and knowledge keepers of the TUBɄ HɄMMɄRIMASSÃ nation, Jaguars of the Yurupary.
Warivy is the space for revitalizing our relationship with nature, awakening consciousness and defending the rights of Mother Earth. Territory for sowing physical and spiritual nourishment (ancestral medicines from the Anaconda canoe of Knowledge).
Warivy is the space to develop programs, plans and projects for food sovereignty, permaculture, agroecology and education based on the Bioethnic and Biocultural approach (relationship of respect that ancestral peoples have culturally with the planet as a subject of rights), accompanied by the knowledge of the TUBɄ HɄMMɄRIMASSÃ Nation.
